Adam Smith是Xobni的创始人。Xobni，是“Inbox”的反写，是一个嵌入Outlook的工具。它对你的email进行分析，然后告诉你关于各种各样有趣、实用的信息，比如你最常联系的人是谁，他/她什么时段工作/休息，他/她常常抄送哪些人，等等。

在前不久MIT的Startup Bootcamp上，Adam Smith分享了他创业的经历和经验。

1.email是网上最常用的功用，但是人们往往只关注于最近的20封左右，其他的都沉在下面。Adam就想到这里面得有多少有价值的信息啊。这是Xobni最初的创意。

2.Adam开始准备创业，准备找一个Co-Founder。他得到的建议是，“你回去拼命摇你的人际关系树，看看谁掉下来。”最终他找到的，是曾经找租房时认识的一个电力工程师。

3.他们完成了一个初期的产品叫做Xobni Analytics，是一个拖放即得的邮件分析工具。得到的反馈是，这个产品很好，但不是普通消费者会经常想要使用的东西。另一方面，很多销售公司或销售部门对这个很有兴趣，因为这个可以帮他们管理销售人员在采用邮件营销时的表现。于是团队面临一个选择，是去做一个面向企业用户的专业软件，但是推倒重做一个面对个人的产品？他们最终选择了后者，推倒重做。

4.保持这样一个比例，你的各种尝试中间，1/4的方案会失败。这个是很正常的。如果你没有达到这个比例，说明你不够大胆、没有冒足够的风险。

5.提高你的门槛。做那些只有你能做得好的工作。这样别人很难追赶你，而且你的用户会对你的工作有很高的满意度。
